The Art of Newborn Photography

There is nothing quite as pure, beautiful, or fleeting as the first few weeks of a baby’s life. My passion lies in freezing these moments—the tiny toes, the sleepy curls, and the innocent expressions that change far too quickly.

Newborn photography is more than just taking pictures; it's about creating timeless heirlooms. I approach every session with immense patience, absolute dedication to safety, and a creative eye to ensure the resulting images are soft, artistic, and deeply emotional. I cherish capturing the start of your family's incredible journey.

Our Session Process & Safety Commitment

Ensuring the comfort, health, and security of your baby is my highest priority during every shoot. We follow a strict, patient, and hygienic process.

  • Optimal Timing (7-21 Days) We aim to photograph newborns between 7 and 21 days old. This is the sweet spot when they are typically sleepiest and easiest to pose safely in those beautiful, curled positions.
  • Studio Safety & Hygiene My studio is meticulously cleaned before every session. All props, blankets, and wraps are washed using gentle, baby-safe detergents, ensuring a hygienic and comfortable environment.
  • Keeping Baby Warm The studio is kept comfortably warm to ensure the baby is cozy, especially when undressed for certain poses. A warm baby is a sleepy, happy baby.
  • Safety First Posing All poses are executed carefully, never forcing a baby into a position. I use spotters (often the parent) for complex poses (like the 'froggy pose') and use digital composite techniques for guaranteed safety.
  • Patience and Breaks Newborn sessions can last 2-4 hours, allowing ample time for feeding, changing, soothing, and cuddling breaks. The session moves at your baby's pace.

NOTE !

The photographer cannot be held responsible for the behaviour of your child(ren) during the session. Should they not behave well enough to get the good images , the session will be edited and gallery will be shown. Minimum images must be purchased, DMPA reserves the right to decide wether to partly re-shoot or not.

How to Book Your Newborn Session

It is highly recommended to book your newborn session while you are still pregnant (in your second or early third trimester). We use your due date to reserve a slot, and then finalize the exact date once the baby arrives.
